Home2 Suites St Simons Island, GA continues to receive global recognition for its unique setting attached to a newly constructed FBO at McKinnon St. Simons Island Airport (KSSI). The 88-suite hotel is just over a year old, but already claiming great praise for its finishes and features.

The Holiday Inn Express – Winona, Mississippi will soon begin updating the decor throughout the hotel to be in line with the brand’s new look and feel. Titled “Formula Blue”, the fresh interior design package will align the hotel with any new Holiday Inn Express that is opening this year.
This will be the second Holiday Inn Express & Suites that MMI Hotel Group has managed through a Formula Blue conversion in the last two years. Communicating about and coordinating the construction such that guest impact is minimized is critical. MMI has been successful in retaining guests through the process and positioning the hotel appropriately as the work is completed in a manner which provides the returns that ownership needs to pay for the work IHG requires. We look forward to sharing this same strategy for Holiday Inn Express & Suites – Winona.
MEMPHIS, Tennessee—Hotel industry leaders who attended the recent Presidents’ Dinner in conjunction with the Memphis Lodging Industry Update were eager to speak about a number of topics affecting their businesses, but five portions of the two-hour conversation commanded most of the attention.

In fact, three of those tenured leaders have recently been promoted to exciting new positions.
Recognizing that markets move and brands must remain relevant, the Cabot Lodge hotels of greater Jackson will be working together to coordinate communication and consistent, positive guest experiences with the promotion of Scott May to Area General Manager – Cabot Lodge brand. Scott’s tenure with Cabot Lodge’s founding company, MMI Hotel Group spans nearly years serving in a number of the company’s hotels across the Southeast.
Directly supporting Scott on a per-property basis will be Harriett Burt and Emily Chandler, two additional MMI veterans. Harriett Burt has been promoted to Assistant General Manager, Cabot Lodge at Millsaps College. Emily Chandler has been promote to Assistant General Manager, Cabot Lodge – Ridgeland.
The combined tenure of these three MMI team members exceeds 50 years of service to their guests and their teams.
MMI Hospitality Group is pleased to share that its hotel management division, MMI Hotel Group, has been asked to oversee all responsibilities of the recently acquired Holiday Inn Express & Suites -Winona, Mississippi. The subject property is the first IHG asset for the ownership group and, therefore, having MMI as its third-party management company provides all parties with the confidence that the guest experience and franchise relations will earn high marks.

More than 350 attended the inaugural Golden Isles Hospitality Celebration last night as a time to recognize individuals, businesses and other organizations for their contributions to Glynn County’s tourism industry. Eight awards were given including The Behind the Scenes Award which honors an individual who works tirelessly as a champion of tourism with little recognition. It went to MMI’s own Connie Towns, for her 40 years in housekeeping at The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort. (We knew the judges would have been crazy to consider anyone else!)
A native of Glynn County, Connie has worked in The King and Prince Resort’s Housekeeping Department for four decades, and now serves as the department manager. Connie has always known that a big part of the guest experience is the hotel accommodations – their home away from home. Her passion for making that “home” the best it can be has helped bring countless tourists to The King and Prince throughout her years of service. Some say that a smile is the most important part of a hospitality professional’s uniform. Connie’s love for her job and her co workers shines through in the the bright smile and positive attitude with which she greets everyone she encounters. Housekeeping is a difficult job on both body and mind. It takes a high energy individual to succeed in that field, and Connie’s enthusiasm inspires the housekeeping team to take pride in their hard work.
Connie’s reliability and work ethic make up the cornerstone of her success, and set a great example for the entire King and Prince team in their goal to provide excellent service with Southern hospitality.
