Your success will be measured by your ability to:

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson with clients, investment partners and third-party asset managers on all operation-related topics, providing proactive, forward-thinking, timely and thoughtful leadership in all communication regarding all operational related topics.
  • Support property General Managers such that they are well-prepared to deliver strategic plans to investor/owner stakeholders.
  • Lead a thoughtful and rigorous analytical process to implement best practices and recommend value-add strategies and profit improvement tactics.
  • Drive the successful acceptance and utilization of MMI tools and best practices.
  • Ensure proactive recruiting, development and retention of operation talent across the company.
  • Provide leadership, management and development to corporate professionals and collaborate cross-functionally with corporate disciplines including finance, sales & marketing, revenue management and human resources.
  • Ensure compliance with management, franchise and ownership agreements.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of financial and business analytics tools.
  • Contribute to a strong culture by modeling excellent internal customer service, cross-departmental communication, community engagement and servant leadership.

The ideal candidate is an accomplished, high caliber operations professional with a minimum ten years experience in operations within the hotel industry. Significant operations experience in a number of franchise brand families and independent lifestyle segments is required, along with an understanding and appreciation for food and beverage and a service culture experience that emphasizes a high level of customer and team member satisfaction. The VPO will be reputed as an excellent team builder and strong coach, with the ability to recruit, retain and mentor top-quality talent while creating an environment of accountability and trust at all levels. He/She is able to shift between strategy and tactics; willing and able to roll up his/her sleeves as an individual contributor while providing strong leadership to the Operations organization. The VPO will have a firm understanding of hotel operational fundamentals, as well as geographically diverse market knowledge. He/She will be comfortable with complex financial structures and high-profile capital partners.
